BUNNY |
|
Meet Bunny. Bunny is 9-10 years young. Bunny is a traditional black and white semi rough coated beauty.
If ever a dog deserved a home in which to be pampered for the rest of her golden years, then Bunny heads our list of seniors. This poor dog was picked up at her owner's request and relinquished to a high kill IE shelter by her owner. It is apparent that Bunny had been neglected for a very long time. Shelter personnel loved her sweet demeanor, and many good people advocated on her behalf. Our volunteers could not believe the condition of her fur, which was heavily matted with fecal dreadlocks 3-4 inches long on her chest, stomach, inside on her thighs, her bloomers and under her tail. She was also soaked with urine. She was scared and had to be coaxed out of the kennel. There was no hesitation about taking Bunny into our rescue program, as how could we resist her?
Take a look at this gorgeous dog now. Her coat glistens and she has warm, gentle eyes that are now full of sparkle. This dog is so appreciative and now has quite a bounce in her step. Bunny is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet, and she greets her foster mom every day with kisses. Nothing fazes this ole gal. She is easy going, well socialized with other dogs, and walks well on a leash. She is crate trained, however, we do not know if she is housebroken, as it is apparent she was neglected as a back yard dog. Bunny also appears to know a few obedience commands. She loves to chew on her Kong and proudly runs around the backyard with it.
Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age. BCIN was Bunny's only hope of making it out of the shelter and we gladly welcomed her into our rescue program with open arms. Bunny will be adopted under our senior program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that she can find a loving home where she can spend the rest of her golden years.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
