Burley is a male 3 year old Aussie/Australian Cattle Dog/ and perhaps Border Collie mix. Burley was advocated to BCIN as a BC mix, so we were a bit surprised when we first saw him after he entered our program. His very even keel temperament instantly won us over and Burley is no less deserving of a forever home, just because of his mixed herding breed heritage.
Burley is very sweet and affectionate. He is always happy to see you and he leans right up into you for some attention. He is well socialized with other dogs. His foster home has a cat and he does not seem to be bothered by the resident cat as he ignores it. He is very smart and is learning quickly. He is learning his leash manners and his foster home is working on his house manners too. He has not been inside much at this point, so she can't say how housebroken he is. He wants to come inside and be with his foster family, so she assumes he was an inside dog once before. Burley has not exhibited any food aggression around people or other dogs.
Burley is one of those dogs who wants to forge a close bond with his new family. We think he would be a nice family dog and a nice introduction for the novice into the herding breeds. Whoever adopts Burley will have a loyal K9 BFF for life.
