Darby is a playful female BC/ Lab mix. However, she looks more Lab than BC. The shelter said she is 2 years, but with those pearly whites, she is most likely closer to 12-14 months old, as she still acts very puppy-like. She is still mouthy like a puppy, but is not in the least people aggressive. An obedience class is definitely in Darby's future, as she needs to learn her manners. She still jumps up on you, and because of her exuberance, we are not recommending a home with small children, as she will most likely knock them over.
Darby is quite the escape artist. She can jump over a 6 foot fence if she can catch on to the ledge, and she can climb a chain link fence. Darby is the type of dog that needs to have this energy channeled, and bond with a person, so she will not have the desire to wander. Watching her bounce off of fences, she might be a good Frisbee dog. She loves to play fetch, and especially likes it when other dogs chase her.
Darby is higher energy, and would do best in a home where she could get lots of exercise. She would make a nice canine partner to the avid hiker or runner. A 45 minute walk would not be adequate exercise for Darby. |
