FREDDIE
| |
|
Freddie is a 1 year-old male who has between a smooth and a semi rough coat. He is black and white with quite a bit of mottling on him and he has prick ears. Freddie came to us from the Fresno area when a good samaritan named Sally noticed he was near her property. She said that her property is near a popular place where people dump their dogs and many of them find their way to her property. Freddie was at first weary, as it took quite a bit of coaxing from her children to catch him. His fate was a high kill shelter, so he was advocated to us by one of Sally's acquaintances. What a nice dog Freddie is, even though he was at first a bit skittish, especially when a collar and leash was put on him. Sally said he played very nicely with her terrier with no aggression.
Freddie is typical of his breed. He is energetic and needs a job to do, as he is a busy fellow who would be best placed in an active home. His energy level is medium to medium high and he requires a household that is active. He was probably on the run for a while, and given the area, probably had lots of room to roam.
Freddie would make a great running or hiking partner. He is very loving and sweet, and likes hanging out with his people. He listens well and will be a cinch to train. He gets along well with other dogs. Freddie would be best suited to a home with previous Border Collie experience or a home that is VERY dog savvy.
