GUNNER |
|
Meet Gunner. Gunner, or Gun as he lets his friends call him, is a three year old red Merle Border Collie with a semi rough coat. His absolutely beautiful coloring gives you the sense that he is wise beyond his years, and you would be right in assuming that. Being born in Tennessee, Gunner exudes a certain Southern charm that when combined with his soulful and gorgeous blue eyes has been known to make the ladies swoon.
Gunner loves being outdoors, hiking, camping, and playing in the water (after a couple of years in Southern California, he has developed a love for the beach). As much as he enjoys being active outdoors, Gunner can also be a couch potato and has no problem taking it easy when the opportunity presents itself. Gunner will require consistent exercise, as he is an active dog with above average energy. He also will need to be stimulated mentally so that he does not become bored and destructive.
Gunner likes people of all ages, making friends easily - except for postal workers. He's not too crazy about them, but does not show aggression toward them beyond a bark or two. He just is not his usual friendly self initially. He's great with both cats and other dogs. He has no food aggression, knows basic commands, and is crate trained.
Gunner is loving, friendly, kind-hearted, and is truly a very special border collie. This sweet boy will fit into your BC savvy family so easily you will have a hard time remembering what life was like before he arrived. The ideal home for Gunner is one that has previous BC experience, and one who truly understands what makes this breed tick. Gunner is athletic, loyal, handsome and smart as a whip. He came into rescue with his pal, Scarlett. They can be adopted separately or together. We are accepting applications for Gunner, as we know that there will be a lot of interest in him.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
