HARLEY | |
|
Harley is a stunning male 18 – 24 month old blue and white Border Collie. He has the most amazing hazel / green eye color. Harley currently is sporting a lion cut, but his beautiful coat is semi rough. When BCIN inquired about him at the shelter, the rescue coordinator told us that when Harley was picked up as a stray, his coat was all matted, dirty, and he had a severe case of flea allergy dermatitis. He had bitten himself raw and had quite a maggot infestation. Harley instantly became a shelter favorite due to his sweet demeanor. They said he was the model patient, and somehow he knew they were trying to help him. He would always manage a loving lick each day after treatment, even though those first days of treatment had to be painful. On the day he left the shelter, there was an announcement that we had come to pick him up. Many at the shelter came to say their goodbyes. Everyone told us that this is one of the nicest dogs they’ve seen.
BCIN agrees, as he loves attention and is affectionate. Harley is such a happy dog and quite the ham. He is well socialized with dogs. He gets along with all of the other dogs in our program. He loves nothing more than to engage them in a good old fashioned game of chase or tug-of war. When none of the other dogs will play with him, he will entertain himself by tossing the toys and fetching them.
Harley knows his basic obedience commands and has nice manners. He rides well in the car and is crate trained without potty accidents. Harley is also leash trained.
Harley has medium energy. He would do well with some consistent exercise and doggie play dates. However, what he wants most is to forge a close bond with his person. There is no doubt that Harley will be a loving, loyal, and faithful canine companion for years to come.
