KAHLUA

|
Kahlua is a 1-year-old purebred Border Collie. Her unique look features a black mask face, a mostly white body and several black spots near her rear, a combination that's sure to have heads turning when she is out for a stroll around town.
Kahlua is a very sweet and playful girl, despite having to endure a tough first year. Her first owner kept her tied up in the driveway of an apartment complex, so she had little to no interaction with people or other dogs. She also had little to no experience being indoors. Kahlua has had a couple accidents in her foster home, but she has quickly learned to do her business outside.
Since being rescued from her tough situation, Kahlua has begun to grow into a fun and loving dog (and she hasn't ever met a stranger). She remains cautious to new things, but also curious at the same time. Take for example her uneasiness of stairs. She hasn’t climbed up to the second floor yet, but she still peers up to see where her human went. Won’t you help her become a stair master? But once she warms up to something (whether it is people, other dogs, a comfy couch), Kahlua really lets her personality shine through. She loves to play-fight with her foster brother, but also finds time to climb into her human’s lap and sneak in a kiss or three.
She pulls just a little bit on the leash during her walks, but otherwise she is a great walker. She also is quite the lady on car rides. Her manners don’t extend to countertops, so be on the lookout to correct her from grabbing unmonitored food or treats from tables and counters.
Kahlua is medium to high energy, so an active home with another K9 pal would be preferred. She also has shown a tendency to herd small children, so she’d probably do best in a family with older kids.
Kahlua is still young and growing into her own and finding her footing in the world. Once she matures and learns a few rules, she will blossom into the perfect best friend for a lucky family.
