Rico is a 3 year old, male, Dwarf Border Collie. He came into rescue from Tecate, Mexico with an infestation of ticks and very thin. He weighed about 13 lbs. His Foster Mom gave him a couple of flea and tick baths and fed him high quality food and watched him come to life. After a few weeks he weighed 18 lbs.
Rico turned out to be a little spitfire and loved playing with all the pack, each 3 times bigger than him; they all adored him and were very careful not to hurt him. He is house trained, loves to go for rides (you don't even know he's there), enjoys following you everywhere and when you finally sit down, he's jumping up next to you. He learned how to play with toys as well as with the other dogs. Poor thing, we don't think he ever played with toys before.
Rico was adopted by a previous BCIN adopter on November 7, 2015 and they are thrilled he came into their lives. The last picture is his Adoption Day pic.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
