Meet Rudy!
Rudy is an approximately one year old red and white Border Collie. He is very friendly, loves to play and run. Rudy does well with other his foster siblings. He loves children. We don't know how he is with cats, as he is not around them.
Rudy came to us a dog dumped out in the hills. We took him to the vet for a examination and it was found that Rudy at some time in his life had been injured, mostly likely stepped on as a puppy the vet said. His left hip had been damaged. It was determined that Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery was required to correct the deformity. Rudy is now completely healed, after being properly rehabilitated, and has been given vet clearance to be adopted. Even with the surgery, nothing stops this boy! He runs and plays like it never happened to him. His new person must remember that no canine sports such as Frisbee or catching the ball be allowed. So as not to develop arthritis, Rudy will require joint supplements.
Rudy is most happy laying in your lap at night and will fall asleep there. He appears to have a bit of a prey drive, so should not be allowed to be around chickens or other birds as he tends to want to chase them.
Rudy is housebroken, crate trained, and learning to walk on a leash. He would enjoy a active family as he not a backyard dog to be left alone. Rudy is quite the handsome dog, and would make a fabulous and loyal canine companion.
