Shadow - Available for Adoption From Border Collies In Need (Location: Southern CA)
Meet Shadow.
Shadow is a male, approximately 6 years old, and appears to be a Border Collie Mix, perhaps with Flat Coated Retreiver. Shadow is a larger dog weighing around 64 pounds. Shadow was rescued from a high kill shelter just in the nick of time, as he had been red listed, slated for euthanization. His shelter name was Chester, and as you can see from his shelter photo, he looked quite BC. BCIN bailed him sight unseen, so one can imagine our surprise when we picked him up from the shelter. Whatever his diverse heritage is, he is no less deserving of a good home, and BCIN is committed in finding his fur-ever home.
What a gentleman, lovely, and wonderful dog Shadow is with a great temperament. He is well socialized with other dogs, and gets along well with his foster siblings. He is very affectionate with everyone he meets and adores kids. He has not been around toddlers or been tested with cats.
Shadow is learning to walk on a leash and really doing well. He is crate trained at night for sleeping. He was not housebroken when he came to his foster home but has not had any accidents in the last few weeks. He's learning potty manners and house rules.
Shadow would make a great family dog with his even temperament. Don't let his age fool you, as he can be active and loves to run and play with his foster siblings. Shadow wants nothing more than to forge that close bond with his people and be a pampered pooch in his mature years. Shadow is BFF K9 candidate potential and would enjoy curling up with you to watch a movie. Shadow is truly a nice dog and will repay you with his loyalty!
