WOLFIE

Wolfie is predominately German Shepherd with perhaps some Border Collie in him. The shelter says he is 3 years old but Wolfie is much younger, perhaps closer to 12-14 months. Wolfie is a large male, probably weighing about 55-60 lbs. He looks like a German Shepherd but is marked like a BC. He is black and white, with some brownish red undertones in his coat. Wolfie was advocated to us by shelter personnel, saying that they had this really nice BC mix in their shelter. His shelter photo did look to be a nice looking BC mix, however, you can only imagine our surprise upon picking him up at the shelter. Holy moly, what a big dog, and to boot, a GSD! Nonetheless, Wolfie is still deserving of a loving home, and BCIN is committed to helping him find it.
The best way to describe Wolfie is that he is a small dog trapped in a large dog’s body. He is a gentle soul who doesn’t know the bounds of his strength. He is also a bit of a klutz because of his age and size. Wolfie does know how to sit, but that’s about it. He is leash trained, but is quite strong on the leash. He is going to need a physically strong handler, because he does pull a lot. Wolfie would make a fabulous running or hiking partner.
Wolfie is very affectionate and he literally gives me a “bath” everyday. He so wants to please and be with his human. He is still a youngster, so he plays a lot with the other dogs and self entertains with toys. This boy wants to please, so he will do well with some further obedience training. He rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. He is socialized with other dogs and enjoys their company. He is also crate trained. Wolfie loves children, but because of his exuberance, he can easily knock over small children, so we are recommending a home without toddlers. Wolfie has an easy going demeanor. He is a nice dog who would make a loyal and faithful canine companion. Please consider giving Wolfie his forever home. |
