WYATT | |
|
Wyatt is a 2 year old Black & White Border Collie/German Shepherd or Malinois mix. IF BCIN ever had a "Rescue Super Star", it would be Wyatt. Originally from the Santa Maria area, Wyatt came to us in October of 2013 with open wounds on his side and legs. When he first arrived, Wyatt was a very destructive, un-manageable dog. However, with the love, care and attention of our Medical Needs Foster Home, Wyatt has made a miraculous transformation and become a very affectionate, loving and well-mannered boy - leaving his 'Bad Boy' days behind him.
Wyatt is a submissive boy who loves the water, to play tug and is "ball obsessed". He is very "soft" and requires a gentle hand with a soft spoken correction. He likes both men and women and gets along well with other dogs of all types, never insisting on having his own way. Amazingly, Wyatt is also good with the cats in his current foster home; however, due to the herding drive of these breeds, we never recommend leaving any dog unsupervised with a cat without some precautions (crate the dog, or a safe place for the cat to go) Although Wyatt loves his ball, he never insists on having it. It is recommended Wyatt not be placed in a home with horses or livestock unless secure as he would chase the horses in his previous foster home.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
