Meet Alvin!

Alvin is a handsome 2 year old male traditionally marked Border Collie with a semi rough coat. Alvin was at high risk of being euthanized at a high kill shelter because he had been there too long. What a shame that such a nice dog was almost destroyed because the shelter was overcrowded.

Since coming into rescue, Alvin has shown us what a great temperament he has. His only negative is that he has a prey drive towards cats, so he can't be placed in a home with them.

Alvin is well socialized with people, and is quite friendly when he meets strangers. He gets along with dogs, big and small alike, A lot of times, BCs are bothered by little dogs, but, not in this case. Alvin is well behaved and is house & potty trained. He is also crate trained, and rides well in a car. Alvin walks well on a leash, and has been obedience started. Alvin enjoys a good game of ball.

All in all, Alvin is a biddable dog that will only continue to thrive with clear, concise and continual direction. His energy level is medium and he has an off button. Alvin does not seem to be afraid of loud noises, which is quite unusual for this breed, The type of home that is best suited for Alvin is one that will continue with his obedience training and is commited to exercising him. Typical of Border Collies, Alving wants to be partnered with his person, but he won't be happy watching the world pass by without some sort of mental stimulation. Alvin is being fostered in the Santa Clarita area.

If you are interested in meeting Alvin, , please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. Our dogs have been sterilized, microchipped, and are up to date on their vaccinations.

The electronic application can be found on our website HERE
