Meet Astor. Astor is a male 3-4 year old Border Collie / Bernese Mountain Dog mix. Astor came to us from Central CA as a stray from the shelter. It is hard to believe that his people did not come looking for him. What a sweet natured big old lug of a dog he is, as he weighs in at about 65 lbs. The first thing he did when he met our volunteer was to jump up and give her a big slobbering kiss, and then fell to the ground for a belly rub. Astor has all of the wonderful traits one looks for in an all-around family dog. He is lower on the energy side and just wants to hang around with people. His temperament is very even keel and affectionate. Nothing seems to bother him and he does not appear to have ever met a stranger. Astor will crate right up, but is a little strong on the leash. He appears to know basic obedience. He is socialized with other dogs and gets along with them. Astor is BFF (Best Friend Forever) material and is the type of dog to snuggle up to while watching TV. He mostly wants to give you licks and have his belly rubbed. Won’t you give this wonderful boy the home he deserves for the holidays?
