Butch is a 6-7 month old male Border Collie. He is the traditional black and white with all the correct markings of a Border Collie.
Butch gets along well with other dogs and loves people. He can be a little standoffish at the first meeting but warms up nicely. He is a typical Border Collie pup and loves to play with toys and other dogs. He would be considered a medium activity level BC as he loves to play but does calm down nicely. He has shown some herding tendencies with some of the other dogs but only to follow and circle with no signs of biting or aggressiveness. He will be tested on livestock just to see how high a herd-drive he has. He would do well in a fairly active home and would be fine with children over the age of 8. He has not been tested on cats, however, I don't see him being aggressive with them, maybe wanting to play, but not aggressive.
Butch has been neutered, microchipped, had his rabies vacs and has one more puppy vaccination to go, however, this can be given to him when he finds his new forever home. He knows how to use a doggie door and is mostly housebroken, may need a little work, but not much. He is very loveable and smart. He can walk on a leash, but again, may need a little more training in that area.
Adopters must be committed to working with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well-behaved, and well-adjusted adult dog in your family. Butch's adopters will be required to complete a puppy questionnaire, as well as complete his series of puppy vaccinations. In addition to his adoption fee, a refundable deposit is required to secure his sterilization, in accordance with state law.
Butch is being fostered in East San Diego County
