Layla is a petite 1 year old female purebred black and white Border Collie with a smooth coat. She weighs about 28 lbs. Like many herding dogs, Layla wants to be sure you are trustworthy (and not the big bad wolf) when she first meets you, so she can seem a little shy at first. Oh, but once the initial introduction is over, she is very loving and greets you with a wagging tail. She will then usually flop on the ground and wants a tummy rub. Layla can be quite the spitfire and typical of her breed, as she is always watching the action around her. She is quite athletic and probably would be a great hiking or running partner for the outdoor enthusiast. She also appears to be a water baby, as she constantly is playing and tipping over her water dish. Layla gets along with her foster siblings and she is crate trained. She also walks reasonably well on a leash, but could use some obedience training. We are still getting to know Layla, so we are uncertain how she would be around young children or cats.
