Meet Mikey. Mikey is a traditionally marked semmi rough coat Border Colllie, approximately 1 1/2 years old.
Not only is Mikey very sweet and obedient, he want to please you. Mikey wants nothing more than to forge a bond with his person. Although he gets along with most dogs, and plays with his foster siblings, it is recommended that Mikey be an only dog in the household or be in a home with a female dog.
When Mikey entered our rescue program, his coat was so severly matted that required that he be completely shaved. Before he was groomed, his foster home took photos so that you can see what he will look like when his coat grows back. We think you will agree that he is quite a handsome dog.
Mikey is crate trained, and sleeps in his crate at night. It is apparent that Mikey had no prior training before, so he is starting at square one with his obedience. He is learning to walk on a leash. Because Mike appeared to be an outside only dog, his foster home is working on his potty and house manners with success.
Mikey is fine with older children. He will not be placed in a home with children under 12. He has not been evaluated with cats, so we are recommending a home without them at this time.
For those who understand and appreciate the qualities of this breed, Mikey is quite the catch.
