PIP

|
Meet Pip. Pip is a female almost 4 month old 1/2 Border Collie, 1/2 Cattle Dog mixed puppy. She is an owner relinquishment, and came to BCIN when a family member suddenly became ill and could not care for her. She is being fostered in Norco, CA.
She is a very happy puppy, and loves to be with people or playing with her foster siblings. Like all puppies, especially herding breed pups, she is very active and easily bored. So, this little spit fire is going to need a job plus mental stimulation to keep her occupied. She is very much a puppy and going through the puppy stages.
Pip would be best placed in an active household. She does seem to jump, like most puppies, so small children are not advised. Pip does well with all her siblings and eats well with no food aggression.
Pip needs a yard to play in and another dog close to her age is recommended. She should not be left alone for long periods, so the best suited home si one where someone is home or works from home. Pip is also crate trained for sleeping at night. She is about 50% housebroken and will ask to go out, but does still have occasional accidents.
Pip is a typical herding breed pup who is going to require a home with previous herding breed experience. Although she is darling, please do not apply for Pip unless you have the right stuff to raise this breed and understands their needs, quirks and all.
Pip's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.
If you are interested in meeting Pip, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. Our dogs have been microchipped, and are up to date on their vaccinations. Pip will be adopted under a sterilization adoption contract, as she is too young to have spayed. The electronic application can be found on our website at www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html. In addition to the adoption application, applicants will be required to answer questions pertaining to puppies which will be sent to you after the adoption application has been submitted.
