Slate is a nice looking young male blue merle smooth coated border collie who is about 18 months old. Slate came to us as a stray via a high kill shelter in Central California.
Stay tuned for more information about Slate. We are getting to know him better, but here are our initial observations about Slate:
Slate is a very affectionate, outgoing, and playful youngster. He is toy motivated as he just loves playing his toys. He will entertain himself with them by romping about with a carefree attitude. He enjoys playing fetch. Slate is already showing his intelligence by tossing the toy back to you to keep the game going.
Obedience classes are recommended since he seems to have no previous training. At this point, we believe his energy level is medium and he will require activity in his life. There is no doubt that he has an off button. Slate does walk on a leash, and he rides well in a crate. Slate really wants to forge a close bond with his human. He seems to be socialized with other dogs. Slate is really a sweetheart and such a nice dog.
